SMITH & WESSON

The firearms manufacturer Smith & Wesson announced on January 23, that they will no longer sell new semiautomatic pistols in California because they object to a gun safety law that took effect in the state last May, The Unsafe Handgun Act.  This is the best news I have heard in a long time.  Of course Smith & Wesson is using its bullying tactics to try to have the law repealed.  However we should take advantage of their bullying and pass laws similar to the law in California in every state so that Smith & Wesson will refuse to sell handguns anywhere in the United States.


The bullying by the weapons manufacturers must be stopped.  The sheriffs in Colorado who refuse to enforce the law passed by the people of Colorado should be fired.  Americans should not put up with this bullying.  It has led to the deaths of our schoolchildren and to unsafe schools.  It is beyond comprehension to me that anyone would put gun possession ahead of the lives of their children.
