TSARNAEV

The Boston bomber will be facing his trial soon.  I have puzzled a great deal over his name.  Curiously, no one seems to mention it.  What does it mean?

The root of the name is Tsar.  The Tsar of Russia?  The wife of the Tsar is called the Tsarina or the Tsaritsa.  The son of the Tsar is the Tsarevitch.  The daughter of the Tsar is the Tsarevna.  Notice that the name Tsarevna and Tsarnaev are almost identical, but one is feminine and the other is masculine.

Did a daughter of the Tsar, two hundred years ago, marry a Chechen Chief?  He might then have taken the name Tsarnaev, "the husband of the daughter of the Tsar."  Marriages are often used to promote harmony among nations.  The Russians and the Chechens have been fighting for several  hundred years.  Tolstoy wrote a novel about fighting the Chechens,  Hadji Murat.  A century before that Alexander Pushkin wrote a novel about fighting the Chechens, Bela

The Tsar Nicholas, his wife Alexandra, and their five children were all murdered by the Communists  in July of 1918.  I don't know whether any daughters of Tsars before that had married Chechens.  It would be interesting to know.
