HEALTHCARE
I was as surprised as everyone else by the Supreme Court decision on the Affordable Care Act. I was afraid that it would be overturned. And I was surprised that Chief Justice John Roberts voted for it. However, he may have done away with medicaid by making it optional for all fifty states. This was a very bad move. I'm not sure that we really have very much when all is said and done. Obama gave up the public option in order to get Republicans to vote for it, and of course no Republican voted for it anyway. He should have simply put the entire country on Medicare and pushed it through as he had to do in the end anyway. Then we would have really made progress.
