COMEDY ACT

Sadly, the Republican debates appear to be a comedy act. To think that these people are running for President of the United States is laughable. The only problem is that it's for real. I have not wanted to write about politics lately, hoping that something rational might happen while I wait. However, nothing has improved. Actually Jon Huntsman and Mitt Romney are rational people. Huntsman, the most rational is at the bottom of the list. Being rational is not a primary qualification for Republican candidates.

I have stated before that my great grandparents and grandparents on both sides of the family and my parents were all Republicans. I was born and raised a Republican. But in the last 20-30 years the Republican party has become insane. All of the candidates appear to be lunatics. They are in competition to see who can be more rigid, stupid, and insane than all the others. There is no way I would vote for any of them. The Republicans used to be concerned about the environment. Now they are trying to destroy the environment as fast as possible. Richard Nixon tried to achieve universal health care for America. The Democrats wouldn't vote for it! Now the Democrats are trying to provide health care for America and the Republicans won't vote for it! They talk as if health care is the worst thing imaginable.

The Republicans fought hard against communism. No they seem to be fighting against democracy. They are trying to restrict the right to vote in all states. They hope that this will prevent Democrats from voting. They don't seem to care at all about America. They just want power and control.

This is a very sad time for America. I never thought I would see something like this. Half of the people in America seem to want to destroy the country. George Bush "starved the beast". That is, he deliberately created huge deficits in order to bankrupt the country and use that excuse to do away with social security and medicare. The only thing the Republicans want is the military. I believe that it is time that we gave up the military. What is the purpose of having a military state that can't afford health care and food for its own people? When we talk about values, what kind of values are these?
