Very few people now want the new health care program repealed. And why should they? It is vastly superior to the insurance programs we have had previously. The Republicans want to do away with "government control of health care." This means that we will be back at the mercy of the insurance companies. Government health care is vastly superior to health care run by insurance companies. With the new program children can be covered by their parents' insurance until they are age 26. This is helpful if they are still in college working on advanced degrees or if they cannot find a job. There will no longer be limits of coverage after a certain dollar amount of care has been supplied. People can buy insurance if they have previously existing conditions.

However, it would have been even better if there had been a government program that people could have chosen rather than health care through insurance companies. It would have been simpler if people 55 and older could have gone ahead and chosen to enter the Medicare program. Maybe, in time, these changes could be added.
