Patriotism

People generally think of Patriotism as fighting a war for one's country. The more important form of patriotism is working together as citizens to keep our country strong and functioning. There is very little patriotism among Republicans today. They have no interest in working for their country. Their concern is to seize power and control everyone. They refuse to cooperate in any of the work of the nation. This is truly pathetic because at this time we face some of the most serious problems that America has ever faced. Our economy has been destroyed, our environment is being destroyed, even the oceans are being destroyed. Millions of Americans have no health care; people are dying from lack of health care. The Democrats have tried to extend health care to these people and the Republicans want to repeal it. They "don't trust the government to 'control' our health care". They want the insurance companies to control (read limit, restrict, and make unaffordable) our health care. Billionaires are leading this Tea Party movement and they have no concern for the people of America. They simply want power, control, and wealth for themselves. Tea Party members in general do not even realize that they are being used. Corporations are spending billions of dollars for their purposes. America is no longer a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. We are now run by billionaires and corporations. America is dead.
