CRAZY PEOPLE

Paul Krugman had an editorial in the New York Times April 13, 2009, in which he called the Republicans "crazy people". My parents, grandparents, and great grandparents were all Republicans. I was "born and raised a Republican". But I have to agree with Krugman, the present-day Republicans are crazy people. What has happened to them? People of intelligence and morality seem to have left the party. The bigots and the religious fanatics are left. Their leader is Rush Limbaugh. What a sad state of affairs! A few days ago I received a letter from a self-proclaimed minister of the Christian faith which stated that the ACLU and Hillary Clinton are going to outlaw Christianity. We are to immediately send this minister our money. I suppose he figures he has found a good way to make a living, by terrifying people. This is laughable, but it also makes one want to cry. People are going to believe this insanity. I have also received mail about "Nancy Pelosi's Death Taxes". We must immeditely sign petitions and send money to stop her death taxes. The fact is that there are no inheritance taxes for any amount of inheritance less than seven million dollars ($7,000,000.00). If I had seven million I could leave it to my children without any worry about them paying taxes. But think of the poor multi-millionaires and billionaires. They might have to pay some taxes. Heaven forbid. We must all fight for their right to have bonuses, refuse to pay taxes, and have the freedom to totally destroy the entire world economy, cost us our jobs, halve our 401k plans, and do whatever they want with their ill-gotten gains. I am appalled. It is hard to believe the world has come to this. I shudder to think what would happen if Rush Limbaugh or Newt Gingrich would be elected president.
