CERTIFIED LETTER

Today I received a so-called "certified letter" with warnings written on the back of the envelope that no one except me should open it. It warns me of 3 problems that we must face:

1. The Barack Obama/Ted Kennedy "axis" (of evil I suppose) is going to bankrupt Medicare.
2. Obama and Kennedy will put Social Security in jeopardy.
3. They will raid the Social Security Trust Fund to pay for Obama's big liberal spending programs.

This letter is not identified as being from the Republican party, but obviously it is. How can they LIE like this? It is George Bush and the Republicans who tried to bankrupt Medicare. They tried to put all Medicare recipients into a privatized Medicare program (Medicare Advantage). Then they subsidized the privatized insurance program so that it could "compete" with Medicare. Obviously the insurance programs could not provide the same benefits that Medicare provided so it was necessary to give extra money to the Insurance companies so that they could compete. This money came from Medicare funds. Is this capitalism? Bush railed about the "fact" that providing medical care for indigent children would be socialism. He vetoed the bill for children three times. Yet he had money to subsidize BIG BUSINESS (insurance companies). True, that is not socialism. I don't know what the term is for WELFARE FOR BIG BUSINESS. It must be Bushism.

2. It was George Bush and the Republicans who tried to put Social Security in jeopardy. Do you remember when they wanted to invest our Social Security funds in the stock market? This would also have been welfare for big business. Welfare for Wall Street. Wall Street could hardly wait to get its hands on Social Security money. Fortunately, nobody went for the plan. Bush even had his mother out trying to convince people that Social Security money should be given to Wall Street. Since the economy has crashed due to the adventures taken by Wall Street, it is fortunate that no Social Security money was invested in it.

3. It was George Bush and the Republican party that raided the Social Security Trust fund for their big Conservative Agenda: the war in Iraq, subsidies for big business, etc. The Part D Medicare Drug program designed by Bush and the Republicans was a subsidy for the Drug Companies. They did not give the Medicare Program any benefit for large quantities of drugs for senior citizens. The program specified that Medicare recipients would pay full price for all drugs.

So the Republicans have outlined their own program of the past eight years and stated that this is what the Democrats will do to the American people. They know that the Americans did not want any of the above, but they forced it on us. Now they they are telling us that this is what the Democrats will do to us! How can they be so arrogant, audacious, vicious, hypocritical, and criminal. Their goal in this letter is to terrorize the American people! And they are terrorizing us by telling us exactly what they did to us and hoping that we will believe that the Democrats will do this. It is beyond all belief. For so many years the Republicans fought against communism. Now they have gone berserk and are fighting against the American people. What has come over these Republicans?
